Day 6!

Hello SJA Parents,

What's the scoop in Room 14? Let's check it out!

Math:
We learned about the relation between capacity and volume. Displacement occurs when an object is immersed in a fluid, pushing it out of the way and taking its place. The volume of the fluid can then be measured.
By putting the cube in the container, the water level rose from approx. 10mL to approx. 20mL. The volume of the cube is 10 cubic millilitres. We conducted our own experiment by finding out the volume of the cube when placed in the container. The students recorded their findings.

UOI:
The students completed their Eye Quiz where they had to label the different parts of the eye. We then looked at the next steps to our Science Fair summative. The students had to figure out the independent, dependent and controlled variables of their experiment. Students were also required to list the materials that they will need for the experiment in their Science Fair package as well. Please have your child go over the materials needed for their experiment tonight and to bring the materials tomorrow!
