Day 5!

Hello SJA Parents,

Quote of the day:
Math:
We learned about the concept of Volume today. We looked at how we can determine the volume in 3-D objects such as a prism.

Prism- a solid with 2 bases.

For example,

Rectangular prism

Triangular Prism

Volume- the amount of space that an object takes up or that is enclosed within a container. This can be measured in cubic centimetres or millilitres.

Rather than counting how many cubes there are that take up the object, we follow a formula in finding the volume so that it will be easier to find the volume

Volume= length x width x height

In class, the students used connecting blocks to visually see how the prisms look like if we were to use cubes and count them...

UOI:
The students worked on the next task for their Science Fair project/summative. The students brainstormed possible outcomes of their chosen science experiment and have come up with their own hypothesis. The teacher checked through the students' work to ensure that they are on the right track with their projects.
