Day 6!

Dear SJA Parents,

We had yet another busy day at school today!

Math:
We marked together as a class the homework from the night before. The students had the opportunity to self-correct their homework assignments from the night before. Afterwards, the students were introduced to a lesson on 'Understanding Problem-Solving" which gave me the opportunity to teach the students a valuable lesson on why it is important to take steps in order to reach the end goal. The students were given a situation where a young boy is faced with a problem, and the students have to come up with their own plans on how they can help the young boy solve the problem. The second worksheet that the students need to fill out have to do with solving problems in the workplace. The students are faced with a problem "You work in a deli making sandwiches. You can't keep up with the lunch hour rush. Some  customers start leaving. How can you stop the customers from leaving?" The students need to solve the problem by creating multiple step plans and to also use one of the words that they have learned on the first half of the page. We will work on word problems and problem solving solutions together as a class everyday for the next two weeks.
